The Alpinist 10 from Marker impresses with its low weight of straight 245 grams (without stopper). The carbon reinforced double spring toe piece is the same as on the Kingpin M-Werks. It offers excellent clamping properties and still allows a certain amount of elasticity. The heel section has been slimmed down and the shoe is held in place by a U-pin. Although the lateral release can be adjusted in a Z-value range from 4 to 10, the frontal release is defined by the U-pin at 10. As a result, the binding requires courageous, strong beginners, as the Z-value must first be exceeded to securely fix the shoe. The construction is very stable and the operation of the climbing aids with 0, 5 and 9 degree angles and the toe piece is extremely simple. Optional crampons and stoppers are available to buy. However, the lateral release value of the binding type is no longer defined with the stopper fitted.
